Cheer Squad

Welcome to TN Heat Cheer Squad 🔥

Stunt • Dance • Cheer • Let’s Cook!

Located in Mt. Juliet, TN Heat Cheer Squad is a Christian-based program dedicated to developing well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the field. Our mission is to help cheerleaders grow in strength, skill, confidence, and character while building a community of sisters who uplift, support, and challenge one another to be their best in every way.

We proudly offer both Junior Varsity and Varsity Squads (8th–12th grade), where athletes train in stunting, dance, cheer performance, and teamwork all while keeping faith, discipline, and unity at the heart of everything we do. On the TN Heat Cheer Squad, we don’t just cheer — we bring the heat! 🔥

Ages

The TN Heat Cheer Squad consists of both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Squad placement is determined by grade level:

  •  Junior Varsity: 8th–9th grade

Volunteering

TN Heat Cheer Squad is a volunteer-run organization, and we rely on the support and involvement of our families to make each season a success.

Fundraising + Sponsorship

We work hard to ensure finances never prevent a cheerleader from participating.

Throughout the year, a volunteer fundraising parent will help families access multiple ways to reduce their out-of-pocket cost. Those fundraising ideas are shared at our pre-season parent meeting.

Athletes can secure corporate sponsorships that directly reduce their fees. Sponsors make checks payable to TN Heat, and we issue reimbursement checks to families based on the level secured.

Huddle Sponsor – $300 (Athlete earns back $150)

Title Sponsor – $600 (Athlete earns back $300)

Premiere Sponsor – $1,600 (Athlete earns back $800)

Any remaining sponsorship funds help support Cheer program costs, ensuring we can keep fees as low as possible and maintain a high-quality experience for all athletes.

Coaches

Head coaches and assistant coaches are background-checked volunteers. Every coach undergoes training on concussion and cardiac arrest and is CPR-certified

Cheer Camp

Summer cheer camp is mandatory for Varsity members of the TN Heat Cheer Squad. Cheerleaders who participate on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams are also required to attend camp.

This camp is an important part of the season for our Varsity athletes, providing time for bonding, team building, and creating the halftime routine that will be performed during football season.

Camp is typically held in mid-June, lasting 4–5 days, and is located within approximately three hours of Mt. Juliet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to participate?

Each team sets its own player participation fees based on various factors. Fees typically range between $700–$1,500 per season, depending on team level. Fundraising opportunities are available throughout the season to help offset costs.

We are always seeking sponsors, which benefit both the athlete and the business — a percentage of each sponsorship goes toward your child’s fees, and sponsors receive a custom sign displayed on our fence during home games.

Fees may be paid in full upon rostering or divided into two payments, one due in March and one in May.

Are there extra fees in addition to player participation fees?

Families should anticipate additional expenses such as travel costs and gate fees (for spectators other than the athlete) as required by various game facilities.

My child is a beginner. Is TN Heat Cheer Squad right for her?

Absolutely! No experience is required to join TN Heat Cheer Squad. While prior experience can help during tryouts, we primarily look for athletes who demonstrate coachability, athleticism, strong dance coordination, a positive performance presence, good character, and teamwork.

Do you have pre-season training opportunities and practices?

Yes! We offer pre-season training on Thursday mornings from 8:30–10:00 AM at The Heat House (January–February).

These sessions focus on:

  •  Coordination and choreography retention

  •  Musicality and performance

  •  Strength and conditioning

  •  HIIT training

  •  Core strength and stability

Are all practices and games mandatory?

Yes. TN Heat Cheer Squad is a team-based program where every athlete is essential to both performance and practice. Because of stunt group assignments and specific formations, we do not have alternates to fill in when athletes are absent.

All athletes are required to attend all practices and games. Families are permitted to take up to two weeks collectively during summer for vacation and will also have one week off during fall break. These dates must be communicated to the head coach by the first parent/athlete meeting after team selections have been finalized.
